Weight Loss Challenge: Day 9 - Have I Lost My Way?
Sometimes life gets in the way. For example, I played golf early Sunday morning, then spent quality time with the family Sunday afternoon. I already knew that the gym was not an option, so that freed up some time for some other activities. I strayed from my nutrition program a bit, but nothing drastic. Never set foot on the scale, or thought about my workout.
Monday was a holiday in the US, so again, did not have to worry about a work schedule. So, I played another round of golf, teeing off at 6AM so I could be home early and spend the rest of the day with the family. I did think about heading to the gym, but decided against it. Again, I strayed from my nutrition program, and ate some things I normally wouldn't.
So, what did I weigh in at this morning? Who cares! As long as I "got back on the wgaon" and hit the gym and straightened out my eating program, the rest will take care of itself. Sometimes you'll get off track, but the right thing to do is get started again without discouraging yourself. If I did get on the scale, maybe I wouldn't have been happy with the number I saw, and that would've detracted from my workout.
So I'll get back to some clean living today, and we'll check the results again tomorrow. My clothes aren't screaming this morning, so I know I didn't lose too much ground. Besides, I'm nine days into the cycle, and I'm way ahead of where I wanted to be. Ultimately, it is this mindset that will help you the most in your fat loss efforts. The key, however, is to not have too many of these slip-ups, as that is what turns a successful program into a losing proposition. You'll have to make some of those tough calls where you really want to eat something or skip a workout, but you've already done that this week, and you don't want to set yourself back further. You've spent a lifetime getting yourself in bad shape, so maybe it's time to put the donut down and save it for when you get to Lean City.
